About the event

Description: Focus will be on teaching women the basics of traveling with stock in the backcountry and basic packing. Trail work will be from Meyers Cove to the West Fork Lakes, clearing the West Fork Camas Creek trail, and the Pole Creek trail if time permits. Camp will be at the confluence of WF Camas and Pole Creeks. Participants will meet at Meyers Cove the evening of July 24th or by 8 am on July 25th. The first day and a half will focus on stock use and packing and be based out of Meyers Cove. Group will depart Meyers Cove on July 26thfor camp, approximately 5 miles up WF Camas. Trail work will be July 26–30th ; on the 31stparticipants will help pack camp and load stock for the hike out.

Dates: July 25 – 31

Volunteer Limit: 8

Fee to Hold Spot: Yes – $75, extra fees to help cover stock expenses

Difficulty: 2-moderate-longer hikes, elevation gain, heavier packs more strenuous work
